Seabirds and other species of birds, such as currasow, crested guan, etc. Mammals: white-faced, howler and spider monkeys; porcupines, agoutis, squirrels, raccoons, white-tailed deer, kinkajous, long-nosed armadillos and margay cats. Marine species: Crabs, chitons, lobsters, giant conchs, nerites and clams. |

Evergreen and deciduous forest. 119 tree species, such as the lancewood, bastard cedar, wild plum, gumbo-limbo, trumpet tree, dogwood, frangipani, spiny cedar, chicle and espavel. |
| Description |
Refuge for seabirds (brown pelican, magnificent frigatebird, brown booby, laughing gulls and common terns). Also the Cabo Blanco Island, 1.6 Km off the coast is an important nesting site for seabirds. |
| Importance |
Cabo Blanco Strict Nature Reserve consists of hills, islands, year-round rivers, cliffs, beaches of fine white sand and forests that form a mosaic of great beauty in the northern pacific Sector of Costa Rica. It protects colonies of seabirds, and clumps of rainforest on the other side of Nicoya Gulf. |
