The Fonda Vela Hotel has nine buildings situated on our landscaped property, and all are designed with natural lighting, privacy and rich wood warmth. All have large windows with views of our forest, allowing the outside beauty to be a part of the natural, cozy interior.

On our 35-acre property, you will find lush forests and verdant pastures that are excellent for birdwatching, hiking or just relaxing. In the tranquil setting of Fonda Vela, you may see parrots and emerald toucans that stop to feed in the fruit bearing trees. Horses graze lazily in the pasture below. A 15-minute walk away is the world famous 25,000 acre Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The Santa Elena Reserve is also a short drive away.

The Fonda Vela Hotel is located in the beautiful Monteverde part of Costa Rica, famous for birdwatching and the resplendent Quetzals.
