Selva Verde Lodge, is located on a very large, private tract of virgin tropical rainforest and rich second-growth habitats. It is adjacent to Braulio Carrillo National Park and the Organization for Tropical Studies' field station, La Selva.

Selva Verde is a rainforest lodge which is dedicated to educating its guests on the wonders and natural beauty of Costa Rica's unique and fragile tropical rainforest. Beyond its roughly 500 acres of preserved rainforest, the lodge boasts a resident naturalist, local guides for bird watching and other guided tours and an ever-expanding reference library.

River Lodge Rooms

located in the main lodge area. All the rooms have private baths with hot water, ceiling fans and a balcony. spacious wooden verandahs with hammocks, elevated views, screened windows with privacy shutters, hair dryers safety boxes,phone. There are rooms with two double beds, rooms with three single beds and rooms with one single and double bed.

Bungalows

The bungalow rooms are discreetly tucked into the forest near the botanical garden located across the roadway from the main lodge. Their secluded location affords a peaceful ambiance for relaxing and keeping an eye out for wandering wildlife. The bungalows are great for honeymooners and those desiring a little extra comfort while experiencing the wonder of the rainforest. While they are located approximately a 10 minute walk from the reception area, the path is lighted and almost completely covered making a very enjoyable, scenic walk via the botanical garden and secondary forest trails.

There are 5 rainforest bungalows, the diffence with the river rooms is that bungalows are located in the forest, river lodge rooms are closer to the main building (restaurant, swimming pool, reception,etc).
The lodge has vehicle support for luggage ins and outs and other times when walking is not advantageous. Please note, however, that parts of the walk are uphill and have a number of wide stair steps. If walking on stairs or up inclines is a problem, the bungalows are not recommended.
